Whats been going on with me September 2012 Edition

A flock of wild turkeys I encountered in the woods.

It’s the first week of September and I can feel Autumn coming fast. Now the days are warm instead of hot and the mornings and nights are  chilly.  Yesterday on my nightly walk I felt the first leaves crunching beneath my feet. The smell of woodsmoke accompanied me on my afternoon walking meditation.  Won’t be long until I’m scraping frost off my windshield for the morning trek into work now. The arrival of Autumn is now inevitable.

I’ve been in a magical cold spell this summer. I’ve been focused on a lot of necessary life stuff recently. Time with my family, home improvement, etc.

The past few month I’ve found myself very burnt out. I’ve been concentrating on mundane; working out again, actually using that gym membership. I’ve taken up running outside. I’ve never been a runner. I rather like it.  My stomach is flattening for the first time since I can remember. It feels good.

My Hermetic and Chaos “Moleskines of Shadows”

As Autumn comes however, my magical mojo starts flowing again, as is always the case. For the past 9 months or so I’ve had my eyes turned heaven-ward and have been focusing on my studies of Hermetics and the angels. My exploration of Hermetics has been very focused on the upper Celestial realms. I’ve spent much time making and strengthening relationships with the Angelic and Planetary spirits here this year. I look forward to strengthening them further. However, whereas I’ve always said I need balance between the ouronic and chthonic, I’m primarily chthonic based. It’s where I’m most at home. With the autumn approaching my chthonic side is rapidly taking over. I miss my primal magics!
I’ve spent a lot of time recently delving full on into the chaos current. This isn’t something I did lightly or without a lot of thought, but it’s an area of interest on mine, and has been for awhile. One I stayed away from because of other people’s perception of it. Fuck that I say! It’s my path.

First I started out by re-doing the Empowerment Ceremony and re-making an Alishan mirror. I also made an Alishan oil for charging during the ceremony for daily use later. Then this past blue moon I did the Invocation of the Chaos Current (ICC) ritual from Between Spaces kind of as both a self dedication and to immerse myself in the current proper. It had a huge kick to it. I had a large looming chao-sphere in all of my dreams that night “working” on me.

I’ve also been strengthening my relationships with Baphomet and Anubis, to great effect. Also, now that it’s ancestor time, the ancestor altar has been erected again all proper like!

I’ve also been working on setting up a more formal daily practice routine. Here is what I have so far:

Offerings to day spirits (SS course)

Gnostic Pentagram ritual (PJC)

Magical Declaration (Between Spaces)

Offering to night spirits (SS course)

Tabula Rasa banishing (Between Spaces)

Prayer to Patrons (Hekate, Baphomet, Anubis)

9 breaths purification (SS)

White Star purification (S.Self course)

Magical Declaration (Between Spaces)

5 mins mantra meditation

10 mins silence meditation

5 mins light body exercise (OBOD)

Prayer of the Perfected Self (Strategic Sorcery)

Mass of Chaos B on Wednesday in hour of Mercury.

At least 1 Gate Rite (Red Work Course)

Offerings for spirits of wealth, and focus on lightening glyph (Financial Sorcery)

Full NAP Ritual (to keep my foot in the door so to speak)

Sigil Casting

I’ve been doing it for a few weeks now and so far it’s working for me. I’m positively buzzing by the end of my nightly work. There are a few areas I’d like to direct my focus this fall. First off, I’m planning on going through the Gates of the Necronomicon as a type of planetary gate rite. While I do intend to do the Hermetic variants too one day, I crave the atavistic component that is supposedly seen with the Simonomicon rites (Please spare me the lectures about it’s validity). I’m hoping to do it as close to the book as possible.

I’ve been working with Jason Millers Financial Sorcery book, which is great but I just can’t seem to connect with Jupiter! I feel much more drawn to Marduk and am planning on putting M.C.’s Mardukite magic e-book to the test soon (I bought it when it first came out and never used it).  I think Marduk is much more my style and it kind of fits with my Necronomicon interest. I’m in the process of making my own images of Marduk for use in the introductory rite.

Finally I am anxiously awaiting M.C’s release of the Book of Abrasax. I have a feeling it will be a total game changer for me. 9I view Abrasax as being very similar to Baphomet personally).

So that’s pretty much what I’m up to these days. Have a great fall folks!

Wow. We really are working some similar territory right now!

This sounds like a lot of fun. I look forward to hearing about the results.

    • Skyllaros says:

Yes were really running quite parallel at the moment. Both coming off more traditional ceremonial magic and delving into chaos. Thanks for the comment, I look forward to hearing more about your results as well! My best to you!

You’re doing some serious work… I just seem to spend a lot of time drawing!

    • Skyllaros says:

Magic comes in many forms! I love your drawing and am envious of them. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body when it comes to drawing. I really enjoy what you’ve been showing lately and can’t wait to see the finished Kavad!

That’s is a busy schedule. I am in the process of “refocusing” some of my work and I am hoping the list doesn’t get too big for me to do – I still have muggle stuff on the side to deal with, lol.

But I agree, I previously mentioned as well, fall seems to be where I start seriously looking at things again – I’ve restarted my work personal work with Chthonic entities already.

    Have fun and enjoy. 🙂

    • Skyllaros says:

Thanks Mr.Black, you too! Yeah fall is always the time where it feels like “back to work” magically. Hopefully I can keep up the intensity, but I find these things are always an ebb and flow anyway. Sometimes I do more, other times less. It all balances out in the end!
